How would you describe yourself?
A lover of light and people. Passionate about what sets my soul on fire.
Tell us a little about your family.
I have been married to the love of my life for almost 10 years and am “momma” to four beautiful children, one girl and three boys. They are all unique and challenge me daily to become better in all aspects of life.
When did you begin your business?
What inspired you to start your business?
My love for photography runs deep, but truly, when I became a mom, I realized even more the importance and value in preserving both the biggest and most special moments in our lives, but also, the people that make up our core.
What is your favorite part of the job?
All of it. Truly. Photographing people in their most vulnerable moments on their biggest days, or snuggling with their loved ones is so special, and so personal, and each and every time, I just feel humbled to be welcomed and trusted to capture those moments.
What has been your sweetest success story?
I’ve met a lot of great people in my photography journey and each of them has left pieces of their hearts and talents with me, and I feel like that has given me a boost and propelled me to always do better and keep my creativity growing. I believe that is what keeps my clients coming back, their photos are authentic, real life moments to treasure forever.
How do you prioritize time with your family?
My family comes first. Always. We have special days of the week that are only ours, sacred time. We don’t let much of the outside world in our home, and that is because we want our children to have our full attention and know how deeply they are loved and appreciated.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned and would like to share with others just getting started in your field?
I have learned the power of following your heart and your dreams through the ups and downs. I have also been the beneficiary of great teachers willing to teach others. Never be too busy to help someone on their way, remember we were all there once.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself continuing to immortalize moments in time, with more skill, and more knowledge. It’s an ever-evolving industry, so to be always growing is to be finding more success.
What was your most memorable wedding? Why?
My most memorable wedding was my first. I remember I felt a smile on my face the entire time as I watched the new bride and groom savor every moment together. I worked so hard to make sure I captured the tangible emotion of the day. Then when I was done and got in my car, I cried, because I remembered those exact feelings from my wedding day and then played out all of the life my husband and I have lived since that day… Honestly, that still happens to me… Every. Time. 🙂
What is your favorite venue? Why?
My favorite venue is an outdoor venue. I love nature, and I love to be outside and capture way the sunlight gently kisses the bride’s face, or the way the flowers just seem to smile against greens, the birds singing, or the way the fog softly rolls in on a late spring afternoon. Outdoor is definitely a fave.
Share your favorite quote or inspirational thought…
My favorite quote doesn’t have an author that is known, but it is this… “That moment when you look at a photograph, close your eyes, and feel your heart swell as you relive that beautiful memory.”
What are your hobbies outside the wedding Industry?
I love to hang out with my family, we love to travel and see new places, we love to adventure in the hills near our home out in nature and we love to be in or near the water in all forms.
Is there anything else you’d like to add…
I am grateful for each and every opportunity I am given to photograph Weddings, and look forward to meeting new clients and friends.
